I won’t be around much for the next two weeks. I’m jumping on an airplane tomorrow (well, literally not jumping) to start a two-week Springer brother reunion tour. Somehow, we scattered ourselves so much that there is one brother in each of the four continental time zones. I’ll be making pit stops in New Jersey, Minnesota, and Colorado, before returning home to California. This trip has been on my Bucket List for quite some time, and I’m finally making it happen.
If that isn’t enough, I will be catching up with a few friends along the way, including meeting up with two blogging friends in person. I’ll bet you’re curious who that might be, but I’m not telling yet. Maybe I’ll show up on your doorstep.🤣🤣🤣 You’re not likely to see me around for a couple of weeks. See you on the flip side.
I can’t wait to read about your trip! I hope the reunion was as incredible as it sounds

I’m getting a lot of mileage from this trip in terms of blog posts. I’ll have to see if I can wrap it up with one last post about my time with my brothers.

Thanks, Moksha. It’s great when our plans turn out to be as we imagined them. I’m happy I decided to make this happen.

Enjoy your time away, my friend, and travel safely. Ohhh I’m now wondering who the two blogging friends are that you mentioned (listens out for doorbell to ring)!

Haha! I’ll be over tomorrow. 🤣 I’ve had many people speculate who they were, and that’s been fun. Both people turned out to be exactly who I thought they’d be like. I’ll have a blog post to start the reveal in the next day or two.

It’s interesting how we’re taking a break at around the same time too, lol. It’s been almost three weeks since this post, and I hope that you’ve been having a ton of fun with your travels. I’m thinking of what you said about feeling better when not spending as much time on the blog. I also think I should extend this break to social media, because attention residue is real, and knowing what’s happening to all my friends’ (and strangers’) lives during most hours of the day is really taking a toll on my creative mind.
I think we’re in the 1950s era of smoking. Maybe the internet is damaging our minds, but we just don’t know it yet. Or maybe I just need to take off my tinfoil hat, lol. Anyway, have fun, Pete!

The key for many people is to do things in moderation. When we do too much of anything, I think it tends to burn us out. I feel refreshed, but I want to devote most of my writing time to novels. Blogs are a pleasant alternative but not my top priority right now.

You are reminding me that I’m long overdue for a trip with my two sisters. What fun we had in Homosassa, Florida. But that was over a year ago.
Thanks for the video. I will forward it to my daughter-in-law who is an art therapist for residents at a facility for substance abuse. Happy trails, Pete!

I encourage you and others to take the time to put these family connections at the front of the line. I have never been one to take things for granted, but Covid and some of the other chaos of the world have reinforced the need to make every day count.

This is soooo exciting! I am going on a little local weekend getaway with just my sisters and I can’t tell you HOW EXCITED I AM! Every time I am around my sisters, I somehow feel safe and revert back to my old childhood ways… they just bring it out of me and I love being around them! I am so excited for your time away, Pete! Enjoy!!!! 😛

I just spent time with one of my blogging friends yesterday, and the other one is taking me around Philadelphia tomorrow. Life is good. I catch up with brother #1 on Friday. Lots of stories to come, but I’m living in the present. After I get home on the 16th, I’ll share some of it.

What a wonderful trip! Say hi to NJ from me (I grew up in southern NJ – but was happy to leave it). ;-0 Wish you were coming up New England way. This blogger would have welcomed you and introduced you to many Boston historic spots. Maybe next time. In the meantime, I look forward to reading your next post when you return to CA.

The only part of Boston I saw was the airport. I have to laugh because getting my rental car took longer (I’m not joking) than my flight from Eureka to San Francisco. I got to Concord yesterday and checked out some of the famous historical sites from the American Revolution.

OH, I was 20 minutes away!! Hopefully you walked on the Minuteman Bridge and maybe had lunch at the Colonial Inn. We have friends here now from Austin TX, and we’re taking them there today!
And re: Boston airport. Um yes, takes forever to get your baggage too. 😦

This takes me back to the cross-country driving trips we used to take as a family. Dad wouldn’t think twice about traveling 700 or 800 miles in a day. I feel like I lost my zest for traveling for a long time after that.
